How do I grant access to locked content for someone in the AMS?
Access to locked content is managed in the AMS with Permissions Lists. People are added to Permissions Lists for the society Web site that correspond with the Member List checkboxes in Sitefinity. This tutorial will walk you through how to add someone to a Permission List.
Note: For societies not on the AMS, submit a support ticket with the people you would like added to Permissions Lists.
If a contact needs access to locked content on a site and is an affiliate member—meaning they belong to a different state or local organization—they must be added to the appropriate permission list.
- Log into the AMS.
- In the quick search bar at the top of the screen, type in the name of the person to add to a Permission List.
- Click on the link for the Contact for the person.
- On the Contact screen, click on the Associations and Committees tab, as shown below:
- The Contact may or may not already be associated with a Permission List. As shown below, this Contact does not have any list permissions assigned. In either case, click the New button next to State and Local Societies.
- The New Community Group Member pop-up will open. Click in the Community Group field and type in the name of the society for the Web site you wish to add the person to their Permissions List, as shown below.
- >>>>Important: Select "SSO" (for Single Sign-On) for the role.
- Scroll down the form to the Community Group Member Term Setting section, click to select the appropriate Permission Level from the Available list that corresponds with the checkbox in Sitefinity CMS, then click the right arrow to add it to the Chosen list, as shown below.
- Click Save when done.
- You will see assigned Permissions List or Lists under State and Local Societies for that Contact. The person should now be able to log into the Web site for the society and view locked content they now have access to.
