What are parent and child pages?
In Sitefinity CMS, parent pages, also referred to as top-level pages, should be created first. Child pages automatically inherit properties from their parent page unless manually adjusted.
The pages list displays all available page types, showing each page's title, creation date, and owner. Users can preview a page using the quick-access view button and access additional options through the actions menu. Parent pages, positioned at the top level, are indicated by a dropdown arrow. Clicking this arrow reveals any associated subpages, also known as child pages, which follow a hierarchical structure beneath their respective parent pages. Child pages help organize and structure website content, typically containing more specific information related to their parent page.
- To create a child page, select the checkbox next to the parent page and click Create a page.
- To access child pages, click the dropdown arrow next to the parent page. To edit a page, simply click the page title.
