How can I add a red alert banner on the top of the homepage?
A red, yellow or green alert bar in Sitefinity is a way to display important information to users. It can be used to show notifications, messages, or other relevant content on a website
- Displays a banner message across the site.
- Can include heading, description, and CTA.
To Create an Alert, follow these steps:
1. Select Content, then select Alerts
2. Select the Create an Alert button
3. Enter the requested content in the fields. You can include a heading, description, and a call-to-action (CTA).
- Choose the alert color as red if that option is available (the system supports red, yellow, or green alert bars).
- Check the box labeled Is Active to make the alert live.
- You can specify a date range for the alert to be displayed automatically and then hidden.
4. Publish or Save as Draft
5. Once you have created a published Alert, go to the Home page.
6. Click the Alert widget pencil icon (see red box pictured below). Note: this alert widget is default placed on your site. It will not display if you do not have a published alert selected and published on your page.
7. In the drop down select if you want to display an ADA national alert or one you created for your society:
8. Next, click select to choose the Alert of choice, and click Done Selecting
9. The selected alert name displays on the screen. Click Save.
10. The selected alert displays on your page editor view. Then publish your page if the alert displays as expected.
Note: The alert widget will not appear if no published alert is selected.
If you want to hide or disable the alert later, you can uncheck "Is Active," unpublish it, or set an expiration date for automatic hiding.
